I'm certain that the majority of you in the U.S have seen this bird often. It is a Yellow Lesserlegs.
I took this photo in the UK (Cheddar, S.W England), it's obviously been lost in it's travels. It is a very RARE bird to see in the UK as only 10 have ever been seen. I was thrilled to get some nice shots of such a beautiful bird. It surprised me how small it was. It attracted a lot of interest. I spoke to a couple yesterday who travelled from Kent to see it and and a family who travelled over 200 miles to see it. It's fascinating to hear what people would do when they are so passionate when it comes to their hobbies. For me I was lucky, it was only 10 miles.
I had to use the 1.4x TC for this and I have heavily cropped the original image.
