I cheated - this is probably as close as I'll get to a Wandering Albatross - dead or alive.

There seem to be quite a few here and there at the moment. This afternoon someone reported a small group in Artis! That's close to where I live, but I couldn't go. Beautiful birds and a great shot!

The feeders at my house have been devoid of anything but squirrels and sparrows of late.
I was so happy to see the return of a cardinal to the lineup. Now that it's starting to cool down a bit here in Texas, I'll have more of a variety to watch!
I was determined to get a bit closer since I was using full frame, so I improvised a wearable "poncho blind" by draping an old green mosquito net over myself/camera+tripod/stool. It must have broken up my human outline enough...it also may have been that the birds started coming by to see what the bozo with the camera was doing THIS time!

Man I've missed pages and pages of outstanding captures!
Still in Panama but have made it back to Panama City after 12 days in the Darien Province.
I felt like a Confederate soldier on Spy Rock watching enemy trip movements. We traveled a lot via dugout canoe
and would see village after village where the normal population ranged from 150-300 but each one was inundated with
1000-1500 'transients', all African, Middle-eastern, or Pakistani. All headed to America! Little tent cities were set up for them
along their way, the tarp/tents had a name-quick googling shows the company is owned by G. Soros=imagine that. OK, enough of that,
here's something from Panama-my first Lesser Yellow Headed Vulture
