It was perfectly clear but a little hazy at the horizon, typical So Cal. Super Moon rise yesterday evening over the San Bernardino Mtns.

Just curious, but instead of using my 1ds lll with the 200 2.8 and a 1.4 extender,
can I use my pristine 30D to get the crop factor + the 1.4 ext. ...?

That would put me at 448mm at f4? Correct me if I'm wrong ..

Thanks :)

Tomi, coincidentally my first DSLR was a 30D and second a 1DSII. If I remember correctly the 30D has a resolution of 8.2 megapixels and the 1DSII is 17 megapixels. The crop sensor of the 30D is 1.6, so if you take 8.2*1.6 = 13.12, so you're better off using the 1DSII which you can crop down and still come out ahead.
