Yesterday morning, got up at 4:30 am to see how super that moon was. Some wispy clouds started moving in around 5:30 am.

If I take enough pictures, at least one of them should turn out...maybe

Got a camera, some cheap glass, one nice glass, a PC which doubles as my darkroom and a lot to learn - and having fun learning.
Taking a picture is like planting a memory, it grows more beautiful with time.

Thanks! I was thrilled we were able to pull it off...we were getting low on gas, and only had one run to do it in. The spacing between the birds ended up being about perfect. I was on quite a high after getting the capture. i never attempted one like this before.

(On a sidenote, this is an Apache, which looks quite similar to the Blackhawk if you aren't dealing with helos on a daily basis!)

Strange! So many of these look pretty much alike. Guess I'll add my look-alike, too.
(Kenko 1.4x TC used to extend focal length.)

Tomi, coincidentally my first DSLR was a 30D and second a 1DSII. If I remember correctly the 30D has a resolution of 8.2 megapixels and the 1DSII is 17 megapixels. The crop sensor of the 30D is 1.6, so if you take 8.2*1.6 = 13.12, so you're better off using the 1DSII which you can crop down and still come out ahead.

great point lol .. I din think of that ... thanks Jon .. and I have the 1Ds lll :)

I realized that right after I posted. DOH!
Thanks for the back story.
