So...I want to get my first metal print; however, I don't know which option to get. AdoramaPix offers the following for metal...

* Glossy White
* White Satin
* Glossy Silver
* Silver Satin

I'd like to get a 12X18, but not knowing which one to use, I am hesitant. Even getting a couple of 5X7 prints of the same picture to see what I like more is costly.

I've seen videos and read that metal prints tend to up the contrast and vibrance, so there's that factor as well.

Here is the photo I want to metalize. I'm wondering if I should drop the contrast and vibrance, so the metal version won't be overly done. Any advice would help.

My vote would be gloss white, and I've done metals at AdoramaPix and Costco, and like Costco better. I did a 16x20, it came out great and the price was reasonable.

Personally I think that this image would actually look better on a Pearl/Metallic paper, rather than as a direct print on an aluminium substrate. It is the Pearl/Metallic papers that give the very saturated effect, the effect is just like a really well done pearl paint finish on a custom car. If you are looking for something that is easy to hang and hardwearing, then I would look at an option that could laminate a Pearl/Metallic paper to the aluminium substrate, and then apply an acrylic finish over the top, I'm sure I have seen labs that offer this with a Pearl/Metallic paper option.

How are you going to display it?

The "silver" prints, on which there's no white base layer, really benefit from a dedicated light source - a spotlight shining on the print - and really suffer from inadequate lighting or basic room lighting.

if you're going to print it big, have a small sample printed first, to make sure the tones are exactly what you want. Spend the $14 on a 5x7 as insurance, to make sure that when you drop $100+ on the big final print, it's exactly what you expect.
