^ I think it's almost as heavy as the Canon 11-24L!

An alley leading towards the Pearl Brewery which has been restored as a fine eatery location. I love what the architects Lake | Flato did to this area.

Batis 18 (you'll love this lens David!)

Fantastic shot! I love how sharp everything is from foreground all the way back.
If I may ask. Where did you focus the lens, and what aperture did you shoot at?

Thanks Nadim!

It's actually 2 images merged. It was shot at f8. For the first image, I focused near infinity at the building in the back since that is my main subject. For the second exposure, I focused a few feet in front so that the foreground elements would be in focus. I could have used f11 but I was already at 30 seconds at f8 and ISO100 so I decided to focus stack. I merged the 2 exposures in PS using a simple gradient mask.

Yes it's bigger than it looks in photos.

unlike the older 12-24, this new version is constant F4, which is why it's a bit bigger. I think the weight is similar to canon's, which is massive. Both 11-24, and 12-24 have compelling focal lengths for sure, but they are legit pigs.

The Batis 85 is next on my list. Going to sell the FE 90 macro and replace it with the Batis 85.

I still use my FE 24-70 for when I do not want to carry around all my gear. No complaints here.

Excellent. Really appreciate your thoughts.

Awesome Carlo. Color is amazing.
Yeah, the Batis 18: I gotta have it!! :)

I did order up the Batis 25mm and 85mm. It's a bit against my wants as the Batis 18mm is the Batis I want most, but feel like the 25mm and 85mm will help me more with my contract work over the next 2-3 weeks.

Having some worries about my new Laowa 12mm. Thing is impressively sharp except am seeing total mush in the bottom two extreme corners. Need to do more tests to see if I can live with it.

I'm seeing these from a few snaps around the house - not enough to tell yet. Now that I'm free from two days of jury duty, I'll take more shots tomorrow, including decentering test shots. Maybe put some on dropbox for everyone to have a look.

Corners. The discussion is about extreme corners. Your cv10 extreme corners really sharp? Mine didn't have sharp corners - but I still thought they were decent enough. Excellent lens regardless. Wish I could afford to have it, but 12mm works a bit better for me as my widest fl.

bring the 14mm,if u want to not as wide u can shoot in crop mode,if u bring the 24mm and want wider ur screwed, I've never been there but I'm sure u will need the wide a few times.

Hmm, actually i prefer having a too long lens instead of a too wide one. You can shoot multiple frames to go wider but as opposed to shooting in crop mode you gain resolution instead of lose some.

yes, its a stick with two ends :)
24mm is two stops brighter, and can work not only for landscapes but also for night photos, 14mm is almost double the width.
had 14mm but for Canon - sold cause wasn't using a lot.
24mm is close to 28mm, dilemma :)

I've yet to take a real shot on the sigma 12-24 but am sending this guy back. Too big for me and am not sure if the 12-16mm focal length is worth the size for me. Plus that massive front element means this lens needs to babied. Definitely not a throw in your bag and go lens. It's the 70-200 2.8 of UWA lenses...

I think the batis 18 is a better fit for me... particularly because I have the loxia 21 and that guy is always going to be my go to lens.
