Obviously superseded Magnus, but that doesn't make the thousands of pics in this thread redundant. Everything I shot with the one I used still looks good to me. If its a fair price jump on it and enjoy.

Yep i know there are much better lenses today at this focal length, but considering the price i might get at around 300 euros it should still be a good deal. I have looked through this thread and seen many nice photos but what troubles me is the lack of recent posts, most posts are old which suggests people have abandoned this lens for newer better lenses.

Perhaps there's a graveyard
where old lenses go to die, who knows ߘ there's a lot of love for the newer lenses and that excitement breeds lots of posts. The rest of us just quietly chugg on taking pics with our old gear ˰ߘ

Yes sir there is a graveyeard for lenses which have fallen, i do my best to rescue many of them from certain death by buying the. Which is what i did today when i picked up this lens used from a friend of mine who sold it. It's in pretty good condition and cost me only 300 euros! i shot a couple of quick tests with it and there is absolutely nothing wrong with the quality of it, even when shooting wideopen it's nice and sharp.

Two of my first test shots with this new-old lens i got my hands on today. It looks like it performs very well so far. I like it even though it's ancient by today's standards.

Two shots with the old (new) Canon EF 24/1,4L on the even older Canon 1Ds Mark II. These were shot at a big car meet with hundreds of beautiful old American classic cars. I shot wideopen in bright daylight, it was a challenge to get a balanced exposure but in the end i did get the shots i wanted. :)

Thank you very much avimagery :) i got lucky with some shots on that day, much thanks to the 24/1,4 and the camera i used. The rest is thanks to the processing i did with DxO Optics Pro 11.
