Hi again all. Just found this site again so I call in. Hope you are keeping well.

Looking with interest at the 5DIV. But the pixel count looks a bit low to me. I am more interested in the 5DS R as I am interested in the 50 m pix sensor. Has anyone on this thread got one yet to comment on.
Just waiting for the new 24-105 f4L mkII be available, can't wait to get my hands on it. Had it on pre order for weeks now. The 100-400 L mkII was a great upgrade- I feel sure this will be.

Ray personally if I was you I'd go for a mkiv as a S or SR are specialised cameras and you won't really need 50mp and the noise handling is rubbish. If I was to get a 50mp camera I'd get go medium format as the larger sensor and 16 bit as opposed to 14 bit colour on a medium format sensor makes a lot of difference 200 000 more colours difference.

Here's one I shot at the weekend with a 15 quid backdrop.

Posted this in the lens gallery but thought I would share it here as things seem to have quietened down a bit. Now the racing season is over for me I may get a chance to pop in a bit more often.

Spent the evening on Saturday getting some shots for a local gym's charity boxing event - dark around the perimeter and bright as a bright thing from every angle in the ring, had limited space to move around so claimed a chair to stand on and 'gave it a go'. couple of okay shots from the batch.

1DX, 70-200 2.8 mkII

Interesting. I think it works because he is an artist.

I've not been around much, been too busy with work and other stuff of late vmad

A few from a recent work trip to an electrical test facility in Berlin, 64,000 Amps test on some kit where I had the opportunity to take quite a lot of quite forensic type shots most a commercially sensitive at the moment

With a circuit breaker in circuit

Today's Macro Mondays (Flickr group) Beatles/Beetles challenge. Managed all 3 key interpretations - and got "explored" :)

With a real live insect! I love the way the ladybird came out looking bronze.

Nice Martin well done.

We had the talented Savra in the studio yesterday known for her elaborate headdresses and outfits but I've gone for a close up portrait for this one.
