Closest thing to a brush painted background I have ever had out of this lens...no fancy PP, blurring or anything.

Thinking about this for my next lens but I'm not a bird shooter. I need something for motorsports so any of you have some examples you can post up without me having to wade through over 300 pages of our feathered friends to find a few shots of cars or motorcycles at speed?

Out at 5 this morning and walked for 12miles and only got one shot at a bird, barring the cormorant in last! Love seeing this species though. They nest in the opposite bank of the river which is too far away for a decent shot and inaccessible. This one strayed over to this side.

12 miles? I thought you were a kilometer type ha! Seriously that's a good long walk. Far better than I've done lately. Great captures to boot.

Ok, ask and yee shall receive... (though I am also guilty of contributing to more than a couple of pages of bird images - and aviation images - in this thread :-) )

Thanks Robert. Yeah, we're metric in Oz and so is the UK but the UK was on miles and mountains were in feet back when I was a Mountain Leader. To this day I still tend to count paces occasionally and can figure out roughly how far I've walked based on time spent in the field...............particularly when there's bugger all to shoot to slow you up!
