Love your work dude...

Do have a question if I may.... any tips on the 'selfie' aspect of one of these shots? I notice you tend to make an appearance in a few and want to try a similar thing but on a couple of test shots I did I was all sorts of blurry and then tried the head torch thing... wasn't happening lol.. looked more like I was at a rave waving glow sticks about :)

Under the Milky Way

(I captured the images for this panorama a couple of years ago, but I decided to go back and reprocess it.)

Great image.

A quick one from tonight. Went out to do some practice with the Skytracker (was going for Andromeda), but it was cold and I wasn't doing a very good job...so I took a few Milky Way pics and called it a night! Sky was 1.5 minutes at ISO 800, foreground was 4 minutes at ISO 400, layered in Photoshop. Taken with the 6D and Rokinon 24 1.4.

Although I was planning doing this shot for a while, I had never been to this place before. I didn't know there would be so much light pollution behind the tree line and I certainly didn't know the place would be so croweded with campers. It was a good surprise though, as they were very outgoing and the place was filled with laughter and loud conversation, so late in the night.
Fun fact: this being a dam, the exact point where my camera was placed had been submerged by the water just 2 to 3 weeks before (and I guess it is again submerged by now).

I got up just after midnight I think. Raced out of the city, snapped away and painted with my head torch and white reflector, packed up and went to bed.
