Kinda excited about this one, not everyday I get to see a Cormorant, also taken from the moving Canoe and I think by the end of the trip I was adjusting to shooting while moving; just had to invest time in the boat to realize it wasn't going to turn over, though it did constantly leak- ![]() I will trade you all the cormorants and egrets you can deal with for a couple of your cardinals.

LevinadeRuijter I'm a bloody goody two-shoes! 22,934 posts Gallery: 457 photos Best ofs: 12 Likes: 15504 Joined Sep 2008 Location: Amsterdam, The Netherlands, EU More info Post edited over 6 years ago by Levina de Ruijter. (2 edits in all) | Nov 27, 2016 12:10 | #4259 Two days ago I encountered a large flock of Goldcrests. They are the smallest birds of Europe and truly tiny. Add to that the fact that they behave like a Treecreeper on acid and you know how hard to shoot they are, especially as they find their food in the thick of the trees. The good thing is that they are not skittish at all. In fact, these birds move about so frantically (even hovering like a Hummingbird at times) that I don't think they notice anything around them. So yesterday I was in luck. I ran into a single Goldcrest and he came so close that I couldn't believe it and he completely ignored me. Of course it's still a tiny bird and it's still in the midst of a tree so tree clutter is part of the scene. Nevertheless I'm quite pleased with the shots. Here are two. It sure makes this guy hard to shot as you say. Jeff ........, 7D, 70-300L, 100-400LII
