Excellent images. Would love to have macro capabilities. I do watch repair, and would love to have some macro shots of so many of the movements I see go through my shop. Would be good for before/after of jobs too.

- Nikon D3300
- Nikon 35mm F/1.8
- Sigma 17-70mm F/2.8-4 Cont.
- Tokina 100mm F/2.8 MACRO

I'd say so. If you look closely, this shows how much copper is not in a penny nowadays.

The Captain and crew finally got their stuff together, now if we can only remember where we left it.

As a kid, I had a WWII steel cent or two. I wonder how they'd look.

That macro coupler was $11 well spent.

The pictures were taken hand held with a Sigma flash on a cheap flash bracket, modified (by only temporarily removing one screw, loosening another, and replacing the first and tightening everything back up) for the flash arm to point the flash directly in front of the objective. The penny just sat on a piece of card stock on my bed. Hence the, as the Brits would say, somewhat "dodgy" focus.

This weekend, I'll probably get more serious and reverse the center column on my tripod and shoot straight down into my PVC pipe light tent. Maybe I'll shoot some circuit boards this time.
