I have changed 3 times... I started with Canon 650 with film, then a Canon XSI and then 40D and a then a 7D with a 5Dc
Then i got then itch for Nikon and went with a D600, then i wanted something smaller and went with sony a6000.
Very quickly I was not happy with the image of the a6000 (I dolove the small size and practical travel factor) and got a Canon 6D
Long story short: don't switch , just take pictures, but switching is also part of the fun I guess (at least to me)

I dunno, I think theres times you might reevaluate and decide to switch things up simply because some new option is available or if you find say..you just dont get on with the menus or controls of a certain brand.

Case in point mirrorless stuff.. if it lets you shoot more then yes, its a good idea.

I have liked photography since I remember. I started with Smena, then Yashica and Zenith. In digital era I had simple Olympus which I changed to Minolta. When Sony bought Minolta I switched to Canon.

Pentax film to Canon Digital, to Pentax digital, back to Canon, went to Nikon D200and D2x for CLS and stayed there for a while, then to Sony A-Mount to M43 and headed back to Canon as we speak.

I have serious issues...

Simple, I added a Nikon to my kit. Albeit a D3300, still it's good tool. I like it and it's going to stay alongside my Canon kit.

Film days, I was all Nikon. And, I still have all that gear.
Digital days, I am all Canon.
I am fortunate that my skills are light years behind my Canon gear's capability. So I have no incentive to switch brand since it won't do anything to improve my photography skills. :lol:

Pentax -> Canon -> Olympus M4/3 -> Canon

Pentax was my first DSLR, didn't get much out of it. Picked up a 30D and loved it which pushed me to pick up a 7D. Recently thought my canon setup was a bit heavy so I sold everything off picked up an M4/3 and hated it, super impulse buy. So I sold the M4/3 and am back into canon. Don't see me leaving Canon again just building my stable of gear.

Started off Canon with the AE-1 program back in the film days. Used that till my 1st digital body (Canon). I've owned Nikon D700/750/810 and dabbled in mirrorless (Olympus OM-D/Sony A7/A7RII) but I never fully left Canon. It is still my core system and will likely be for a long time. I have a Fuji XT-1 that I use occasionally but it is a compliment to Canon.

1st from Pentax to Canon in 2009. Pentax was going nowhere, and I was in midlife crisis and wanted to see full frame result for myself. I regret it as while the files are larger, my photography stayed the same. And the excitement of buying things never lasts very long.

Later I have switched to mirrorless. I don't regret as going light has always been my preference and I couldn't foresee the rapid growth of mirrorless. I only regret the cost of switching:oops: But within mirrorless I'm also switching from m43 to Fuji. I kinda regret it as although I love Fuji, the difference is not that big.

Canon -> Nikon -> Canon -> Nikon

First time I switched, I couldn't get the Nikon down pat. Second time was actually much easier. Although, I've thought about switching back for the 135L. I really miss that lens for families and seniors and Nikon just doesn't have an answer. The files from the Nikons are just better though.

I shot Minolta in the film days. Never since going digital on 2005 but I almost pressed the checkout on a D500 and 200-500 lens during BF. Decided to stick with Canon.
