why are you returning the sigma?

In my outings with the Sigma I found that I was only using it at the wide end....anytime I need something in the 20mmish range, the Loxia 21 will always get the nod. The Loxia is my go-to. I'd rather carry the Loxia + a 12mm prime than the Sigma.

If I didn't have the Loxia, I'd keep the 12-24.

I just got back from a 4 day trip up HWY 395 and the Eastern Sierras. So I finally have some new material to share as soon as I'm done editing.

Here's a couple from Convict Lake, at sunrise on Thanksgiving morning. It was about 28 degrees (F) and rather frosty at about 8000 feet altitude. No drama in the skies, unfortunately, but I settled for some basic reflection shots.

CV 15 Heliar III

for those of you shooting these CV lenses...which adapter are you using...the CV15 has me curious...

CV15 is available in native mount if i'm not mistaken.

advantages

MF assist, automatically zoom when you MF
EXIF
auto ibis

disadvantage
TAP = AF
close focus adapter = pretty nice macro ability

Capture One Pro 10 is scoring big points with me. In the sharpening panel there is now a halo suppression slider, which works beautifully. It's not fool-proof, but you can super sharpen and still suppress halos.

I don't ever roundtrip back to LR...not sure why one would do that.

However, since LR is automatically included in the Adobe subscription, I will continue to use LR as my main catalog for fully edited work. Whenever I need to locate past completed work LR's catalog is unbeatable imo. In other words, hopefully C1 can now become my go-to for raw conversion, but continue using LR on the back end as my archive catalog.

Jumping the image from C1 to PS is very quick and easy though.

You lost me. LR is excellent for exactly that: cataloging. So how do you NOT roundtrip? The whole point of roundtripping is to get your PS edit back into the catalog that is maintained by LR. No?

Yes, and I had lost you as well. But, now I've found you. By "roundtripping" I thought you were discussing the image-processing workflow. In that case, I see no need to return a PSD file back to LR for further image processing. But, regarding archiving, yes, that's just what I said in the post you quoted.

Beautiful captures and wonderful news on the halo suppression.
I did load my first image into COv10 for the raw conversion, then per Vinz right-clicked and sent to PScc=super easy.
Now to study sharpening in COv10 and the halo negation!
So far no processing with the program, just conversion and shipping it out.

Next I hope they work on halo suppression on the clarity/structure sliders. I rarely use those sliders in either C1 or LR because of the resulting halos (the halos are soft and large, but quite conspicuous).

Looks great David!

I gave it a go with C1Pro10. Importing 400 images took some time. I applied some basic tone, color, and pre-sharpening to this image in the Capture Pro and then exported to PS CC using "edit with...". I then continued my normal workflow on the image in PS and Nik Color Efex.

I use a dumb M mount to E mount adapter.
