I only have three pictures to post for November.

Hard
I have a pair of eagles that used to stay close to our house. They changed their routine a while ago (after having an eaglet I think) and have become incredibly hard to track and photograph.
A not so great picture, but I was happy to see them around again. :-)

Another "not so great" picture, but it was hot.

I'd settle for any photo of an eagle in the wild. It's on my bucket list.

I like your flame photo much better than mine.

Lovely soft flower.

Thanks, Don.
As far as the eagles go... I have lived on this property for 14 years and they showed up around 5 or 6 years ago. I spent about 4 years stalking them and right about the time they started getting used to me they had an offspring and moved to a different part of the ranch (about this time last year). A couple weeks ago we heard them and it seems like they might be back again?
On a different note...I saw my first ever bald eagle here on veterans day. I accidentally spooked him while taking pictures and was able to fire off a couple shots while he flew away. The pictures sucked, but I was extremely excited to have seen one let alone capture it with my camera. :-D

Nice to have the eagles around. We have a fair number of osprey in the area but no eagles that I'm aware of.

The November topics are

Hard
Soft
Cold
Hot/Warm
Cerebral

Here's my take on the topics, from November's all-month wildlife and nature shoot:

Hard crash!

Really cool set, Tom. I particularly like the Warm shot - not only the shot itself, but the topic interpretation.

I've been slacking on the last few challenges so I'm taking a different approach for December. I want to get all five this month so I've made a list of all the topics and I'm writing different ideas for each one. Before this is would go out for the day with one topic in mind. This time I'm going to go out looking for a few specific shots...hopefully this keeps me focused. :-P

Last set for 2016. An interesting set of topics to find for this month. Funny thing was that I had a few ideas for images to cover a few of these almost immediately, but I don't think any of them panned out. It turned out to be mostly random sightings for my images. OK, here goes....

Sweet - Plenty of candy in the cupboard around the holidays, but most of it is dark chocolate, so not that sweet. However, DW likes this sickingly sweet junk candy, so that took care of the first item.

Intertwined - This was one that I thought I had covered from day one by my cats would not cooperate. They are always piled on to of each other in a big mass of fur and legs, but not this month. So I went with Plan B, which was to hope I happened upon a suitable image by pure dumb luck. I think this one covers it as the wetland is swallowing the old dredging rig and the rusty metal and long grass are certainly intertwined.

Open - A no brainer here, a couple open bottles of beer!

Design - This one I sort of had in mind all month, but it took me until today to get it. I'm moving offices at work so taking advantage of the opportunity to clean up a bit, so I had several old artifacts out on my desk as I was packing. The drawing is the detailed design of the airfoil section structure; this is used as a support for some of my test hardware.

POTN (external link) by OhioHick (external link) on Smugmug

Strong - This is just a random sighting during a safety inspection. The old hardware has been around for decades but still looks pretty hefty and strong to me.
