lol ...Ahhh Yes. There a cute little dude face on. Side view show's more of the real truth. Had one of these guys in a bad way the other day. never the less I saved his day. The sound they make when cornered is more like a Mountain Lion. They growl all the time walking around. fun little dudes.

ok as said i got my unpredictable focusing 7d mk 11 and 100 - 400 mk 11 combo back from canon sydney who adjusted the auto focus as it was not meeting spec - so bit of an update follows

initially when i got it back last week it seemed pretty good first up and was doing good at close distance10 - 20 m using 100 out to 400 mm focal lengths but when i shot it at longer distances say 30 - 40 m plus using 400 it was still well off and not real sharp so i contacted canon again a bit annoyed and they said send it back at our cost with some examples and we will have another look at it and get it sorted

but i had read somewhere that someone had loaded the new firmware 1.1 on theirs and seen a improvement in overall sharpness ( cant recall where i read it but i thought may as well give it a go and so loaded 1.1 onto it over the 1.04 i had on it)

well the end result at the moment is i cant get it to give me any serious out of focus shots (so getting no examples of badly missed focus to pass onto canon) at any focal lengths or any distances so right now its pretty good ( not great likes jeffs legendry 7d mk11 / 100-400 mk11 combo was  )but not bad and way better than it was and about the same or maybe just a touch better at times than my very good 600d / 100 - 400 mk 1 older com bo that i keep comparing to it ) - it could have a slight front focus but certainly mfa able and right now it is pretty good so i am going to keep shooting it over the next week or two and see how it stacks up

now i am not telling any one to load on 1.1 but it certainly seemed to help mine at this stage

cheers rob

Thats encouraging Rob, I'm still running on 1.0.4 at the moment. I wonder if others that have installed 1.1 have any feelings on how there 7DII shoots now and before.

There just may be a wildlife photography workshop opportunity in your future. I sure enjoy your photos. Urban sprawl has pretty much taken over in my area. What were once large productive tobacco farms are now subdivisions. The winds of change i guess. Come to think of it, I use to have more hair and less waistline. -?

I agree i sometimes get very bored of the wildlife where I live, i live in suburbs and well.. i get birds sometimes but thats about it

I really need to go somewhere, if my health will allow it, For now i photograph Luna for practice

A quick little time lapse. My first time lapse video (despite having indulged in photography for 12+ years.

From 3000 jpgs using the built-in intervalometer. I wasn't sure what to expect but this was quite a drain on the batteries.

Damselfly I think, somehow managed to get this in the window with the big tamron zoomed in on the 7DII, pretty happy with how it turned out

That was my experience as well Lester, I was always envious of those that frequented the Tammy thread and this one, who were able to get crisp, sharp photos with their Tammy. That's why I bit the bullet and bought the 100-400ii. Even with the 1.4xiii it's sharper than the Tammy I had.
I'm anxious to see how the new version of the Tammy works.

Yes it looks like an improvement the G2, not seeing that many images yet, specially with a crop camera.

I just popped the G2 page from a local supplier up in front of the better half <hint mode> - the campaign has begun! ;)
