Talk about being at the right spot at the right time... I just wish the skies had been a little clearer.

Consider this: seeing large international jets above Toledo, OH is fairly rare. Having good weather in November to see them is somewhat rare. Having 2 of them anywhere in the sky here at the same time is extremely rare. Having them cross above me in this precise manner is 1 in a million. KL685 - Amsterdam - Mexico City, LH521 Mexico City - Munich

Sony A7RII + Tamron 150-600. Heavy crops (the middle one is almost 100% crop), heavy processing to increase contrast lost in the thin clouds.

I apologize for the big watermark, I pretty much never do that but I intend to post these elsewhere too and I'm a little cautious (not that it's impossible to erase it though.)

That's a pretty unique set of shots, Gabe. You really were at the right place at the right time! Very cool and well done!

Thank you.
Unfortunately, I wasn't near my computer (I was out trying to shoot birds but it was a very slow day...). I usually check flight data on flightradar24 online but their free phone app only provides minimal data, no altitude. But at least 2,000 ft, more likely 3K.

That is so cool it looks faked! I don't blame you one bit for placing that watermark on that as you did, if you didn't, I would've brought it up so your image would be safe. heheh
That is one lucky, good, beautiful shot, the stars lined up for you on this, for sure.
Very impressive, I have never seen anything remotely like this in my entire time here.

Actually, I am glad that you didn't have pristine skies, the clouds you have in there actually add to it in my opinion.

Thanks Randy!
I just showed these pics to my dad who is a big aviation buff. My parents still live in Hungary and there is heavy international traffic above their small town, literally dozens of A380s and other big international flights pass over every day. My dad pretty much knows the timetable of these flights and hangs around out in their yard watching them through his binoculars (he's retired) :)
Still, even he has never seen anything close to like these photos. And considering that Toledo is a virtual dead zone for international jumbo jets, it's all the more surprising I was able to capture that.

I'm glad I decided to stick around near the river yesterday even though there was pretty much no bird activity. I was almost ready to head home disappointed before these flights showed up...
