I'm really smitten by the size of the package. I think most would
cringe putting a 400 on the little M5 body but I think it works.

Kinda like how I mounted my 100-400 on my wife's SL1 for giggles. its the most unbalanced hard to hold thing in the world.

Does this one get in folks - just doing some re editing while I am waiting for my new cam to arrive

Of course sharp sharp sharp, but that must be a hard bird to expose for. Just
looks fantastic. Thinking about it, I don't think here in the sticks we have any
bird that is white or even mostly white

Yes Levina using the EF-M adapter. Any and all EF lenses can be used on the M5=a huge plus for this mirrorless. I've been adapting EF lenses to Sony via Metabones for I guess almost two years now and never satisfied. There is no 'language' barrier between EF and M so that helps a lot.
So far I've actually shot for 20 mins so no overall judgement, nothing moving fast but plenty of reviewers out there (Kai has a new review on his site) showing its weakness in AF-tracking. But for single AF is is pretty snappy.
I can already tell those who wanted the M5 to be a BIF machine will be sad but I can already tell that for panning shots of large birds like eagles and egrets it will do in a pinch and maybe even more. I say this because I've done BIF with Lumix and the single AF is so quick with the Panasonics it can be done. Not as easy of course as say 7Dii but doable; and the M5's singe AF is quick enough for that. I think Kai's video shows that AF-tracking in AF servo is good for the panning shots but not when the target heads right at you, but that is the challenge for all cameras eh, well excepting something like a D500/D5 or 1DXii/7Dii.

We were gone paddle camping last 5 days and 4 days of Sun! Before that we had 6 days here at home of nonstop rain. Now I'm back and looking at the 10 day forecast we one day of Sun and 9 days of more rain So it will be a while before I get to play outside with the M5.

Yes true MedicineMan, this little dude is super hard to get detail on. and of course he sits very still until I say go. lol
