Here are some of my favorites from one of the family shoots I did through October/November. The one-year-old was as stoic as they come...his parents couldn't elicit a smile for anything. The three-year-old was up and down throughout the session. Regardless, they were a ton of fun! And all so photogenic!

1. I know his hands are cut off but this one had the best expression of the few I got. We were trying to get a photo of all four of them but he decided he wanted to be the star and walked closer to me, then posed. I fired off a few shots with everyone else in the background.

7. This one's a candid but I liked how it turned out.

You've gone a little too over the top with the contrast/blacks for my liking but if that's your style then you stick with it.

As for the photos, #2 and #6 are my favourites although with #6 its a very minor thing but I'd crop a thin slice off the top. Having he very edge of his sleeves in shot makes the crop a bit awkward.

Generally very lovely shots though.

Thanks! I see what you mean on the crop on #6...missed that.

The high contrast look is something new I've been playing with. I actually do like it a whole lot :-) I'm still trying to develop my overall look though so it will probably continue to evolve.

Also your photos are excellent...I've bookmarked your site for future reference :-)

Agree they are a little over the top but I really don't mind that. I do think the skin and eyes are to overdone for my taste though. I like #2 but might crop a little tighter. All and all I bet the family will be happy!

Thanks for the feedback Jessi! I actually didn't do much on the kiddos' eyes....they're really just that bright. The mom's skin was pretty good too, I might have smoothed it out a bit too much on #3 though, I can see that.

They did like them a lot, so that's all I can ask for! :)
