Such a beautiful place well-captured.

The vertical light strands, also reflected in the water, lends a "Matrix" sense to the imagery. Very cool.

Thank you David! That shot was a bit tricky to edit. Ugly yellowish color cast that I had to tame. Also, I think cropping down to 16x9 helped focus attention to the main elements which are the bridge, the plants in the foreground, and the "Matrix" (great description on your part) lights.

On another topic, here is the Tesoro Building that I've been wanting to capture for a while now. I took a super long exposure as well which I will convert to B&W. That one will take some time to process.

The security guard came up to me and asked me to leave. I was shooting from the parking garage. Bummer since the sunset was really great earlier today. Have you guys had any run ins with security personnel?

Loxia 21. I tried the Batis 18 but the parking garage concrete wall was in the way. A nodal slide would have helped in this situation. Actually, I needed a 35mm lens for this. My FE 55 was too long.

on far too many occasions...and often it felt like we(I) had been singled out due to the camera or tripod...it has happened so many times that I expect it now.

Cool shot. Yeah, I've had plenty of run ins with security. Every time I shoot from a parking garage I sort of expect it (and try not to stay long). I did get thrown out of one garage on my most recent KC trip (but had no problem with several others). If you're on a public sidewalk there's nothing they can legally do, but in a garage they can play the trespassing card.

Although I'm not the biggest fan of the little FE 35mm f/2.8, it is tiny and might be helpful for a shot like that (when you're stoping down anyway). I've been thinking about that little lens lately possibly playing a gap-filling role in my all-native lens kit. But I'd love to see a Batis 35 f/1.8 or f/2.

On my last scouting trip in downtown Atlanta, I was on a public sidewalk, taking a picture of the Equitable Building...the security guard came out of the Building and told me to stop taking pictures...because "there were very important people that worked in that building", I reminded him that it was Saturday afternoon and what did it matter that they worked there, I wasn't taking their picture, and I am on a public sidewalk and not hurting one human being...he had a defeated look on his face and retired back to his desk....

It's a good preforming lens really. As you say, what would be idea is something that sits between it and the big 35/1.4 ;) That might even tempt me to part with the CV40!!

Good one Travis. If you're on a public sidewalk shouldn't matter what day of week it is. So much stupid and wrong about that security guard: a. doesn't matter what day of week it is - you have a 1st amendment right to be there and take pictures, b. "important people" don't have special rights not to be photographed from a public vantage point, c. everybody is "important people".

A while back I started watching some "1st amendment audit" videos on YT. It's where brave (and crazy) people stand on public sidewalks recording video of FBI, Homeland Security, and Police Station buildings. The over-reaction of security is maddening (although, the "auditers" sometimes are overly provocative). My blood pressure can't take, so I stopped watching. Still, I do appreciate those crazy nuts that do those "audits" as they may be helping educate some. I don't know though...seems like there is a world-wide trend towards more authoritarianism that respects individual rights with less frequency.

Thank you David. I think that was only the second it has ever happened to me. I did spend an hour up so it's a lesson for me to get in and get out quickly.

Yeah the Loxia 35 has me interested too. Worth another look.

I hope you guys don't mind an iphoneography image.

Edited using LR Mobile and finished in PS CC
