I like that top image - nice work.
Why is the non-batsman smiling!!!

I see their is a bit of a push to maybe limit the sizes of bats.
David Hussey is recommending a maximum of 40mm on the edge of the bats.
Trying to get some balance back into the ball v bat equation.

Yeah I don't know what they're going to do about the bats. They seem to get bigger every year.
Something's gotta give eventually.

I must take a wide shot of this ground. Beautiful place almost totally surrounded by big shady trees.
The best spot to sit and watch cricket on a hot summer's day.

Some from a charity match yesterday.
#1 - just out of reach!
#2 - pretty quick

A couple more from yesterday's charity match
#1 - no run out but made the batsman hurry up!
#2 - yes, he did hold onto it

Nice shots Ace.

What is it with cricketers and tongues?

And footballers, and netballers etc!!!
Every shot I have have ever taken of a local footballer has his tongue out. Now that I'm shooting his son (football and tennis) ... he has his tongue out as well - classic!

Just a momentary thing when they appear to be at peak effort.

What about today's performance at the 3rd Test!!!!
Warner just tore the game apart and young Matt Renshaw looks to have a good career ahead of him.

My son took 5/6 off 8 overs in this game.
He's standing at square leg in the 2nd photo.

That's some bowling effort!!!
Not likely to repeat that in a hurry!!!

Really like the low perspectives in these - the first one is the winner for me (just really clean, eyes, ball etc), although I can see why you posted the second.

Nice work as usual :-)

I don't think our local cricket is back from the Xmas break yet, but I will post once they are

(Footy here just announced pre-season to start on the 24th ... so maybe we can have an "AFL Footy's Back thread later in the year!)

I like the low perspective in sport photos. Makes the players seem larger than life.
For football I have a little stool I sit on. So when the play comes near the boundary, they look huge.

For example

And yeah, a footy thread for sure.

There's going to be some pain for that guy in the middle!!!

I started using a drummer's stool last year (getting too old to stand up all day) and I really agree with your comment.
I can swivel around it and adjust the height of the seat a little..
I'm using it with tennis as well - makes the kids look like "stars"!
I see it with your cricket photos as well - very nice.
After seeing yours, I'm going to lower my wind the seat lower again.

I'll see what I can get this weekend - not a lot of sport at the moment with the Xmas break.
I'm getting a bit twitchy with the lack of sports!

I like the wider perspective of photo #1 above. Left handers always seem harder to handle for batsmen!
I'll assume the second photo above was "not out"?

Couple of mine from Saturday - I sat on a lower folding seat. I quite like the lower perspective, so thanks for making me go lower!

Just wanted to add this one - Still can't make my mind about it.
I don't think it tells enough because of not seeing the face.
This guy took a throw from the outfield, turned, dived for the wickets and threw the ball to pull off a great run out
Just disappointed I wasn't on the other side of the action to get his face
