If I could get an A7R series camera (super high resolution and dynamic range) with the ergonomics of my 1Dx then sure. For me the Sony falls on it's face in the ergonomics dept.

For me, the ergonomics are fine, I would never buy 1Dx for really disliking ergonomics, I see it in similar light as people using tablets for taking pictures.

No offense to you, but its simply not for me.

Very cool, I mean hot, shots Carlo. She's a trooper being out near the water in the cold. I'm not into composites but I'd imagine your mermaid images would make an excellent choice for further digital compositing.

Just wanted to share a tip when you're out shooting. This is something I've started doing recently. I use my smartphone to snap images of a scene or subject to test various compositions. It's fast and works well.

Man, I keep getting drawn to the Loxia 85. I know I know. The Batis 85 looks better on paper but there is just something about the Loxia.

Yeah, it's awesome. I'm happy with my Batis, but not real impressed with the sharpness - my 25mm seems a lot sharper. Loxia, for city/landscapes would be unbeatable. Wish I could have both!

If it's like the Loxia 21, then I'll definitely get it for cityscape and landscapes. I agree. Wish we could have them both. I'll await Fred Miranda's test results in the Lox 85.

Sometimes I can get too close and can't focus because I'm within the minimum focus distance.

When you drag your kids to the studio to do some light tests with new strobe setup, and you say "Hey buddy, could you just look up at me for a second", and he's not in the mood.

I'm not really in to macro photography of very small stuff, but it's darn nice to have a macro around, and I do frequently use one. Has some marks on the body, extends, and not the most typical focal length.... picked up the sigma EF 50 f2.8 macro, and it's good. $60 is a nice price too :-)
