I'm not getting the same free gifts. After adding one of every type of CLI ink (both XL and non-XL), I'm getting a bunch of 4x6 papers, adhesive hanging strips and a photo memory box. Woohoo. Not. Looks like I'm too late. :cry:

My Pro100 sits on top of my Pro9000II for the time being. Not sure what to do with the old printer.

I don't even own a Pro100 and I still bought the ink for the paper. Great deal!

Check out the current rebates for the PRO 100.
I know Hunt's right now (for example) has several bundles with cameras that essentially get you the printer and paper free, and a lower price on the camera that comes with it all...

EG: T6 with TWO lenses, for $519.00, and you get the printer and paper free.

also, the PRO 100 is currently just $169.00 after rebate;

Cool, I didn't see that.
I was however putting up a link to a printer for those that did not have one yet, but not a terrible idea at all. Easier to store that than the entire printer :)

I guess the math doesn't really work out. The discounts make it out to be $100 per 50 pack of paper. At BHPhoto, the paper is less than half the price of the discounts. Still a great deal, of course... just not $1400 worth.

Here are the actual selling prices of the free paper at B&H

Semi Gloss 13x19 $36.99 ea. = $147.96
Pro Luster 13x19 $37.99 ea. = $303.92
Sampler 8x10 $12.00 ea. = $48.00
Glossy II 13x19 (20) Shts. $16.89 ea. = 67.56

So in lieu of $1,427.80 its actually $567.44 which isn't really that bad.

I have it in my cart, but I'm trying to force myself to click print. I don't yet own the printer and I'm fairly happy sending stuff to the lab or Costco. I also have a problem with the fact that this is dye ink and not pigment, as archival quality is important to me... hmm.

Dye vs pigment is not so cut and dry as it used to be.

I've got prints I made for my first gallery show (as do many customers) using the 2nd gen Canon 13" dye printer, the i9100.
These used the old BCI dye inks, and they have stood up well since 2004/2005. Yes, that's only yen years or so, but still, not bad.

The newer dye inks are certainly better..

This may help to assuage your concerns;
