Quick question......Should I have in camera picture profiles (i.e. PP1-PP9) turned off when shooting stills in RAW? Are these profiles intended to be used with video primary? Thanks

Turn them off. Also turn off all the other corrections (forget the names but think one is shading correction) as Sony bakes certain things into raws and these have negative effects

is 90 macro worth it?

A friend of mine got the a6500 and I got to play with it yesterday. Very nice camera. Super responsive and the continuous EVF is very, very nice. I took some burst shots and yeah that continuous EVF is a pretty big upgrade, and it fires off shots at a ridiculous rate. Touch screen is so-so, but not a big deal to me as I don't personally think touch screens are a critical feature of a camera.

Laowa 12mm

Grain Silos wrapped in vines

The sky was very odd. Dark on one side and bright on the other. Big dynamic range to contend with. This was handheld.

Cool shot Alfredo. I've been messing with the Laowa, and I must say the rendering is very nice. Great colors and contrast...really punchy. Better than the Sigma 12-24.

Thank you. I'm surprised to hear its punchier than the Sigma. I've been pleased with the Laowa. Good solid performance. I've noticed a bit of flare in certain shooting situations like car headlights but it doesn't happen often.

It's been a while since I've used the Sony. Not that I've been doing a whole lot of shooting lately anyway. . . .

I've been a bit in the mood for pork lately. Here's a roast pork loin filet with a garlic and rosemary rub I made today.

^ Gene, that's making me hungry. Looks great.

Here are a few more shots of the grain silos and the vines. Again captured with the Laowa 12mm handheld.

This one was edited in On1 RAW to test out the software. I also wanted to see what a wider aperture would look like. Not bad I think.
