I was gonna say 1/8000 seems more a marketing scam. I cant see a reason to go past 1/4000. Even that is a bit over the top. Luckily by the time i save up for a 6D, tge 6DmkII will be out, so ill just go with that. Between my 80D and a 70-200 f4L IS, and a few other lesser lenses, Im tapped out for this year.
I like my new 80D. It has performed well in every test I've done. It nails focus with my fast primes, though I haven't used the 200 II with it, yet. If focuses in a bunch less light than my 70D did, or my 1DIV does. I have used it for flash work, from 17 to 135mm, from f/2 to f/11, and it passes with flying colors. I won't have the weather for a few months to test it out for its intended application: outdoor field sports with 70-200 f/4 IS and 100-400L. I have every indication that it will do well in that regard, too. If if performs to expectations, I may have to shelf my 1DIV. That is why I bought the 80D, hoping it could replace my 1DIV. So far, so good.
