Yep unfortunately. The bird ringers are very prolific here. Its difficult finding birds without rings in the popular areas.

This is a house finch, not a purple. The bill shape isnt correct, and it lacks the head striping and overall all raspberry coloring. It also has a striped belly, which the purple's do not.

True, I feel I'm inadequate in the bird identifying but some I do know

Now THAT! is a purple finch! And one dandy of a shot! That might be my favorite one of yours thus far

I saw my first one this year, and she was a fatality from window collision at my house :(
