I did at first, but after fiddling around with it for a while now it's fine. It doesn't like focusing where there is a huge contrast in distance, on auto focus. For example, while at the zoo last year I was trying to shoot a bear walking down its enclosure through an opening in a large pine tree near me. It didn't like that and I didn't get any in focus. Also, during a wedding I was shooting the couple kissing while their party was way behind them making faces, focus was iffy with those. In the future I will be doing manual focus.

I have been shooting with the D500 since the beginning of high school football season.

Its ability to find and follow focus in the heat of the moment is just superb.

Some shots of one of the guy's baseball this past season. Looks like I can only upload two at a time, but the sequence is important. Was surprised at how well the D500 grabbed and held focus while banging out the frames. Had the Nikkor 70-200 f/2.8 VR II stuck on the front of the D500, shot ai 1/1000sec and stopped at f/4, ISO was 100 and everything is straight out of the camera. The remaining posts will show the rest of the sequence. Love this camera! My son is the catcher and the second baseman is one of his closest childhood friends. These two guys have been playing ball together on the same team since they were 5 years old.
