Thanks for reply, Colin. Great shots. Are they cropped? I did some hand held tests and was amazed at sharpness at 600mm. It was the ball at top of a nearby flag pole. At extreme crop the braiding of some frayed threads on the rope was resolved, and that was impressive. Recalled the amazing sharpness of a Sigma 50mm 1.4 I once tried. I will definitely try hand-held on some real subjects before I decide on a gimbal to see if I can get good results.

Hi Tom yes they are large crops
Colin

This particular fallow stag is a right nuisance. It has no fear of people and constantly harasses visitors to the park because people feed it contrary to regulations.

There was some decent light yesterday morning but it soon became too harsh.

Wonderful shot.

Thanks much, we have a pond on our property, as it goes down in the winter we get a lot of different wildlife . This was one of many I have shots like this, but of other bird species. Summer rains brings the pond back up to capacity. .

Congrats! See if you can borrow or otherwise buy the USB Dock if you have not already - a worthy accessory for firmware updates and advanced focus/OS features.

Looking forward to your image contributions here ~
