Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM (Thread Mk. II)

Thank all of you for your input. I have decided to buy the f/2.8. I should have the cash in Jan if Canon restocks their refurbs... if not, another couple months, give or take.

I'm looking forward to learning to photograph more people.

Then maybe you should sell your 70-300 and 55-250 to fund this lens faster, not sure if you really need those 2 lenses, but once you get 70-200 2.8II i doubt you will touch them again, and you already have 100-400 so you are covered between 16mm up to 400mm regardless of which f-stop.

The 55-250 STM is my wife's... I should take it off my list. She also inherited my 70D.

My 70-300L is on what I think is a permanent loan to our youngest son. It was my first "wildlife" lens but as you mentioned, the 100-400 ii made it redundant. The 70-300L is almost like a 70-200 f/4, though I think it's something like f/5 at 200mm. I had a lot of fun with it. There are several birding places here in Florida where you can fill the frame at 300mm.

Hope you are fast. They tend to move pretty quickly. Consider setting up a notification from Canon Price Watch for better street pricing as sometimes you can get new for the same or maybe even less, plus you may not have taxes.

That's one of the reasons I love Florida for bird photography. This made me think of the Wakodahatchee Wetlands.

I already have this lens but i asked one store for the price for a friend asking about this lens, and they quoted it at 5750 AED that is equal about US$1550, brand new, what do you think about the price?

Probably an odd choice for my first photo with the 70-200 f/2.8. This was taken using the Brenizer method and is a composite of 50 photos all taken hand-held.

Truth be told, I went to the airport, hoping to catch some helicopters in flight (theres a helicopter flight school there), but they weren't flying today. So rather than go home empty-handed, I decided to play around with photographing one of the planes tied-down outside.
