yeah there are a few oversights...PS is not my forte.

So I had posted it on an antique boat group on FB, some lady from Canada stole the image, posted it on her page, then shared it to the Chris Craft boat mfg page. They posted it on FB and Instagram. I became aware of it's use and messaged Chris Craft, they quickly removed it from all social media.

I know this post is a few weeks old, but why would you care? It was just a fun shot anyway.
I seems to me you squandered a business opportunity with Chris Craft...the door was open?

I'm not a photographer for a living, so I am happy to share my photos with the boating community, I just get annoyed when people take your work and don't give you credit. If she had asked, I would have said yes.

The folks at Chris Craft were very friendly and we conversed several times, and they are looking forward to using some of my photos on the social media next season. So the unhappy incident lead to a good contact, the head of marketing :) Who knows, *maybe* there will be an opportunity to more with them down the road.

Norfolk Wherry's are pretty long and heavy wooden boats so need a lot of sail to get 'em going, the lens has rather shortened the perspective ;-)a

Fair enough, but conversed several times..very friendly..but still made them take it down..-?

That is what we call "foot in the door" It sometimes comes at strange times, strange places. Easy for me to say as I have been self employed most of my life. Years to hone the craft so to speak. Foot in the door is hard as the bigger the company the more layers are there to shield them from people like you and me.
Without knowing the back and forth..My line of BS would have been something like..please take that down, and let me send you one with my sig on the bottom!

Instead of..hey remember me from a few months back..you know the guy that made you take down a picture that I was not getting credit for?? Anywho I would like to sell you some pictures now.
Not picking or criticizing just talking here. But those contacts are easier now with the internet, and at the same time harder with the internet. I imagine that those people in those positions are flooded with people hawking photos now days.
