Some Photos from Around Town

Well I drove around Loveland today, flying my quad and taking some photos.

These were all shot with in 10 minutes of home using my Olympus OMD EM10 micro four thirds camera and 12-40mm lens.

I wanted to shoot B&W and I wanted the photos to be a little more dramatic, so I used a 720nm IR filter over the lens. So these were shot using Infrared light.

sometimes BW is better than color, but not always.
This is the case. Good composition based on these set.

Spectacular shots! The first one is my favorite with the road...makes me think back fondly on my big roadtrip across the country.

Thanks guys! Yeah, I am totally new to IR, but not to B&W photography. My normal landscape camera is a Zone VI 4x5 Large Format film camera.

I bought this little Micro Four Thirds camera to give by back a break on extended hikes. The 4x5 and associated gear is getting a little too heavy for me and limiting me in my hikes. I turn around after 8-10 miles and 12,000 ft altitude, where with a lighter setup, I'd hike a lot further and higher.

Imo the IR is most effective in 2 and 4. I am going the same small mirrorless camera direction, hiking with an A6000 and leaving my Canon 1dmk2 at home. Thanks for sharing.
