How are you getting so many opportunities to photograph them? Is there a habitat you go to where you can consistently find them ?

Thanks Greg, They come to a local reserve in my home city every winter from Scandinavia and Scotland due to our not so harsh winters on the south coast UK and return home around March time.

The local camera store here is planning on starting to rent sigma lenses. I hope it happens, cuz this lens is first on my list if it does...

Alright, I can't compete with the short-eared and snowy owl photos, but I"m going to offer my meager attempts anyway. While burrowing owls are very common in some areas like south Florida, they are rare here in southeast Texas. This burrowing owl has been wintering in the Anahuac National Wildlife Refuge for the last couple of winters. This was my first time to photograph this bird.

I did get him/her in flight, but it was flying away from me so you don't get to see those photos!
