There was a bit of ice around this morning, so I couldn't just Let It Go, Let it Go! :)

Sorry....

Paul.

Frost can produce some amazing effects but that last one is funny. Sort of a 'what just happened' look.

Nice captures there Will. How do you find the 55-250stm vs the 70-300L?

Thanks folks!

I grabbed the 55-250 because of compact size and the slightly wider 55mm.

IQ is quite similar based on comparison images found on thedigitalpicture.com between the two lenses. And that site often points out when there is a good deal on that ef-s lens because they think it is an excellent value lens.

AF seems fast enough and accurate too. Got mine for $150 CND dollars which is nuts so I jumped on it.

Actually been trying to sell my 70-300L IS for almost two years locally but I just get low-ballers. I 'will' miss its weather sealing... can't justify having 3 lenses so close in focal range... ;-)a

Thanks Will. It's handy to have the insight from a user that has had first hand experience with both lenses. Ever since I got the 150-600, my 70-300 has seen a lot less use. It's a fantastic lens, but now sits in a range that I am not heavily using. Have thought of the STM for the more compact size without a big tradeoff in IQ, but the used prices on the 70-300L give me pause in trying to sell it. I am a little worried as well that the new 70-300II could take a further bite into the prices of the L.
