If work sucks, you have the wrong job.

At his age (mine too) it's a bit late for a career change.

My first SW movie was RotJ in summer '83. That prompted me to rent ESB shortly thereafter. Which forced me to rent the original after that. I still don't get the fascination with the entire series. For a bit of perspective, I do own and enjoy the entire set Bullwinkle & Rockie cartoons. Now THAT is entertainment.

Yeah, good toons fer sure. Those writers for the Rocky and Bullwinkle Show were on a perpetual acid trip. The TF would fit right in Fractured Fairy Tales...............

That forces me to ask the question, "How old are you?"

Not that I think it the best choice for everyone, but I left the employ of the US Postal service at the age of 56, with 28+ years on the clock, to start all over again. I started work towards a Bachelor's degree in Nursing in 2013. I graduated from the Indiana University School of Nursing in May of 2016. I passed my Indiana State Board of Nursing examination in early June. I'll be 60 next month.

My wife did the same thing 2 years earlier. From HS Chemistry teacher to BSRN.

With SW you have to put it into historic perspective. When it was first released in 1977, there had been nothing like it ever. The movie that came closest was 2001. The visuals and effects totally reset the bar. By 1983 it was the norm and nothing special. Star Trek, Aliens, Empire Strikes Back, Outland, Wrath of Khan, Blade Runner, Return of the Jedi, 2010 had all come out already so watching the fist made it seem old.

My point, exactly.

My little brother is a HUGE SW fan(atic). He has long since given up converting me. He suggested I watch them all, in order. Honestly, I tried. The only redeeming aspect in any of them is Carrie Fisher in a gold/metal bikini. RIP, beautiful lady.

Not a SW fan, never was. I'm also not a fan of going to theaters. I don't like being ushered into a room with few doors and lots of people who are probably carrying something I'll catch. I don't do crowds well, or places I can't get out of easily. I'm with JJ. I see way more movies at home now then I ever did in a theater, and the savings on popcorn, junior mints and coke make my house payment.

I'm a huge scifi fan and in my book, 2001 A Space Odyssey is the Standard. 2010 and Mission to Mars might come close but didn't quite get there. I cannot get over Spacecraft " Flying " in Space like Aircraft and Noise in the Vacuum Of Space...............

2001 was one of my favorite movies as a kid but watching it now it just looks silly. :)

I too am a huge SiFi fan but have no issue suspending belief and accepting that giant furry dogs can fly space ships. I like the realistic ones as well, the ones heavy on the Sci part, but totally enjoy got fy parts as we..

Peanuts or peanut m&m's are my go to snack for plane rides. I can sneeze them all over the window and pull the shade down.

I think I've sat next to a person like Chet on a cramped aircraft!
When they sneeze and release an uncontrolled fart at the same time, that's gross

How can we be certain that it wasn't Chet?
