Got this shot of a great blue heron catching a vole in a meadow this afternoon... first time I've actually been able to photograph a GBH catching something that wasn't aquatic. Oddly enough, the bird dropped the vole, looked at it a couple of times, and then wandered off. Perhaps its eyes were bigger than its stomach?

Great photo, you kind of wonder what the Heron might do with the Vole.

Thanks! Normally, I'd expect the heron to eat it, but this one apparently either wasn't hungry or didn't like the taste of vole... it left the vole there and flew away!
