Thanks Robert. Living 5 minutes fro Alligator Farm is an advantage to me. I can usually get within the MFD of my 500mm lens which is about 15'. Lucky me I guess.

HNY to you..

Absolutely stunning capture.
The way the colours change from top to bottom is very eye-catching.
Well done Charlie.

A couple of fallow deer shots from today:

A heavy crop as they were quite far away.

Lvph2 Thanks. The 5Ds and it's 50 mp is insane. I get great detail using DxO Optics Pro 11 and Photoshop CC 2017. Can't wait to shoot again.

Have seen moire in certain feathers especially on parrots not other birds.

Take care..

Hi Charlie....Nice Parrot shots. Im interested in what you use dxo Optics pro for?....Im assuming you use Lightroom 1st for the RAW processing etc?...Also if you did use DXO on the blue parrot above what were the adjustments used and why not use Lightroom?( assuming lightroom had a similar adjustment)

Rgds

I believe they're rated similar to the 5DIII at 150,000 clicks. That said, to my knowledge there is no way to check the shutter count on them just yet other than sending in to Canon.

Gotcha, I have someone said they estimated to be at 60k for sale for $1800. I would get it if i know is around 60k for sure. Thanks for your reply.

Would you get it if they "think" is 60k shutter? Would you take the chance?

Personally, I've bought, shot, and sold dozens of Canon bodies in the past at various levels of use and wear. It's probably just good luck for the most part, but I've never had a single shutter error (even with a few 5D II's with 150K+ counts.) If the shutter had made it past the initial 5k or so shots (where a very small number of new cameras tend to fail due to mfgr issues,) I'd wager it's in solid condition and will be good for the full rating and beyond.

It wouldn't hurt to ask where he or she is getting that estimation (Lightroom file count, previous Canon service record, etc.,) but I wouldn't hesitate at that price. You'd be getting it for $450 off the lowest eBay price right now, so in my opinion it's a reasonable risk to take, regardless of the shutter.
