Wow Pondrader that is a stunner!!!
That color scheme of the Grossbeak (???) is really proud looking.
Now school me since we might see one a year. the beak looks quite powerful--are they
dangerous/aggressive toward other birds?

We're not traveling this off and hoping to head to the cabin for SNOW!!
I think I'll take some feed up and see what I can draw in. 3000 feet higher so maybe new critters entirely.

If i had birds like this i wouldnt mind the snow.

I tried to get a good shot of it this past weekend, there was a leucistic goldfinch came to my feeders. This is the second time I have seen this guy, and then 5 minutes later the leucistic house sparrow showed up. but POOR shots of both were had. They dont belong in this thread.

Images in the snow are great but shovelling it is not lol. spent most of the Christmas holiday doing just that. The Evenings are very skittish and one must use a blind most of the time. I've been using two different blinds but the Dog House still win's. I put it out about an hour and a half ago. I did shoot a leucistic Chickadee this morn lol

Now I'm into leucistic. there seems to be more and more of it around..

They keep saying its going to snow here, but then it ends up being 60*. Winter is very drunk right now haha. I havent set a blind out yet, still figuring my yard ans where to shoot from.....and if i want to creep out my neighbors that much ( more, HA! )

For Levina....
OK not a bird portrait, not even close, not even a bird in it
and worse, not taken with a Canon! But a promise to Levina to take a pic of the tree.
Just a tree?
Well it didn't grow in my backyard. I found it a mile away at a neighbors, had it moved here.
It is about 15 feet tall, is mounted on a metal pole running underground to a ton of concrete.
It is now part of the bird studio and you've already seen images of birds on it :) LIke the last male
Cardinal and the Blue-J below posted previously. Hopefully I'll get some snow soon for more pics.
So you too can have your own tree just for the birds (and snakes, squirrels, maybe even a hawk :)

The tree is totally cool. It must be one of a kind. I love it.
And thank you for the pic!

I kinda want to start a thread in the general bird talk forum of 'Show me you Yard Studios' where its just stuff like this and how you are using your yard for birds.
