Following winter (mid-Nov to mid-March) we have two months of "phoney spring". It brings us occasional frost and snow. Finally by mid-May things green up and the critters return.

Fantastic portrait shot Steve. These birds always look so "slick".

I prefer to be in the bush with the animals than a crowded city.

Currently 15F here and 7-8 inches of snow.
I shot today for an hour and only because of heat packets in the gloves. thank
God for them.
First, a shot from the archives-2015-yep, wild, not captive or rehab.
And a Roadside Hawk from 2016 November, probably most common hawk there, I guess
the Red-Tail is our equivalent-

Pagman I still like getting out in it but it hurts now, my fingers scream like little babies. Driving in it just flat out sucks. I'm just glad this one hit on my off week....it's a real beatch driving in it after being at work all night :(
Now today, as soon as we came in from the bitter cold the cameras and lenses all went into a 4 gallon zip-lock with silica gel packs...just trying to be nice to the gear....let it all stay in the bag a couple of hours.

Don't forget, those neoprene covers (camo or otherwise) do wonders between cold lenses and old fingers... :-)

Haha! Holding out. You know I've never kept secrets :)
But you also know how many gig's you, me and others bring back from trips that never see the light of day.
I think we brought back over 70 gigabites from Iceland, 42 from Panama; heck I had over 2000 files from the first day at Viera two weeks ago.
In processing I'm still as far back as September. It will never be completed, not in my lifetime.
Now if we were still shooting film...........
