Thank you.

I find myself struggling when shooting with a f2.8 lens. Need something faster.

Is this lens weather sealing?
Otus lenses doesn't have this big advantage, i doubt this lens does have it, but somewhere I've read that this lens weather sealing.

^ Yes, the Milvus line does have full dust and moisture sealing.

What's everyone doing to nail focus with this lens?

5D3 user and wider than f/2.5 I'm guessing and hoping AF confirm will get it right, and so far it's been pretty inconsistent. I hate using live view but more and more it looks like my options are another FF camera (6D and super precision screen or A7-series plus lens adapter) or send this back for the L. I really don't think I'd mind the MF only if I new where it was hitting without stopping down, defeating the purpose of the 1.4. 48 hours in and there's probably about ~100 photos that looked great and then I hit the magnifying button on the LCD and realized I'd blown the whole shoot being just a little back or a a little forward focused. I really want to love this lens, but the Canon seems to be a let down and weak point in manual focusing.

^ That was my frustration too. Any time I had a moving subject, I had to pray I nailed the focus.

Does this lens have "onion rings" in out of focus areas like bigger bokeh balls? Usually lenses with high correction of spherical abberation, like this lens has, shows rings in bokeh because of the grinding of the aspherical elements.

I cant decide if I am going to switch my 85LII for this lens. Love the smooth out of focus rendering the 85L gives me but really hate the manual focus mechanism, its a nightmare to use! Like 90% of time I use the 85L in manual mode. The Milvus 85 mm also gives 15cm closer minimum focus distance compared to the 85L lens.

A great way to find and photo bokeh balls this time of year is christmas trees:-)

Is this the kind of sample you were looking for?

Also wanted to note I'm happier with the manual focus wide open with the 6D and the Super Precision focus screen replacement.
