In 2015 we did the dinner and show package, that included the reserved area access. We booked dinner earlier in order so we would be finished before the sections opened. We could have gotten front row, but went back one level to avoid spray. My wife is 5', and had no issues watching from the front rail of that level. A few heads in the shots may occur.

We leave for WDW a week from today. I went ahead and packed my bag. All of this fits nicely in the peak design everyday backpack 20L...which so far seem like a perfect bag for Disney.

That sure seems like a lot of hardware for walking around Disney.

But hey....enjoy your trip.

We go 1-2 times a year and I've never had an issue carrying gear around. The bag hangs on a stroller most of the day and there isn't a ride that doesn't have room for a bag. The key is to pack smart.

I travel with about the same :/

Last trip, bag was around 20-25 lbs daily. It sucks sometimes, but if I don't bring it, I always regret it.

Hehe definitely worth the trouble in your case.

Very cool shot. Love to FOV. I'll be bringing a 12mm lens to the park for the first time this go around.

I grok, big kit vs little camera. A year ago I brought two cameras to WDW, a 5DM3 (full frame) and lenses, and an ELPH 330 (pocket point-n-shoot), along with a tripod, a 580EX II and other accoutrements. Great fun! Last month I brought a G16 (high end point-n-shoot) and a tripod. Also great fun! It's a matter of what you want and need to enjoy your vacation.

The kids are much older now (adults actually) but I never regret humping my gear around.

A bunch of stuff.

Just weighed my bag. 14lb load despite the amount of gear. 2lbs of that is the 70-200 2.8, which I'll only be bringing to AK. Not bad at all. Mirrorless lenses and bodies don't weight much at all.

Two days down. I've never brought a 70-200 lens to the park before because of the size and weight, but it's getting a lot of use TBH. Haven't even been to AK yet.

Headed to DL in 2 weeks for 2 full days in the parks for a photo trip without the family! Super psyched!

...even though I get to shoot MSEP instead of PTN :(

^^^^^^^ I love that these are quintessential Disney for any true fan but certainly stand out as just plain well composed photographs.
