That lens has been a struggle, almost sickening thinking I'd bought a dud...wouldn't be the first
though. Thanks Pondrader.

Very kind of you. Honestly I was shocked based on my recent past experience with
this lens---that's why I asked you guys 'cause I just wasn't believing.

Thanks. He's on Levina's tree, that's what we're calling it :)
Wasn't there a thread somewhere on backyard props, studios?
I never can find anything :(

You just made my day, Robert. To know there's a tree in the world that's named after me!!

Oh, and did you mean this thread in bird talk? https://photography-on-the.net …/showthread.php?t=1473577

Harsh criticism please. Don't sugar coat.
I bought a used Minolta 400mm and it's been a devil to me.
I changed things up for this morning's shoot and ended up (for now)
at MFA +7.
Go ahead and tear this one apart-

Well, since you insist, the shadow of the beak is a little distracting. Is this the kind of response you were looking for? I can't get harsher about that photo.

Well I just realized I was at F9 :(
So I still don't know do I ??
Won't know until I stop up to F4.5.....that might break
my heart again.

On a different thought. Pondrader I could ship you two or
three Cardinals and you could ship me one of those white
Chickadees !! We could ship overnight, I think they'd be fine.
What do you think ???

Haha! Pag! I would if there were any even close to me. I'd love to see your Common Buzzard....which we would call a hawk I think.

Not the greatest picture, but this one really made me laugh. Anyone remember the old cartoon "Baby Huey" ?

Look at this freakishly large Nazca Booby chick.... and the look on the mother's face ! :p
