OK, so it was time to update the headshot for 2017...and I thought I would have a little fun with it...like phases of the moon...this is Face Phases...I suck at self portraiture, but face detect sure makes it easier.

It was kind of difficult to do being rushed by the family, I was on a stroll, and the steps had an interesting shadow casted onto them... I wanted to turn the shadows into the steps instead..... yeah, execution not the best

I like the idea. What bugs me though is that the shadows (by "logic) are on the wrong side. It would make more sense to me if the two outer pictures were flipped with each other if you know What i mean. Very nice lighting however

then the lit side would be on the inside for both frames, as it is, the lit sides correspond to the same side on the fully illuminated version.

Just used my broken Impact 3 light octobox...the head won't clamp anymore...so it had to be setup on something else other than the light stand...which is a RPITA....

Ahh now i see what you wanted to do. Yeah, i more thought about when the light is from the front in the middle, then the left one cant have the shadow on the right side of the face...

Nevertheless, cool thing!

Yes sorry guys in Disney right now. Great entri s this week. Travis, As a portrait guy I can't help but respect your control of the light and how you used the corresponding shadows on those self portraits...Charlie, great concept and very creative as usual. But I think Alfredo nailed the theme this time.

Great abstract shot where the shadows themselves give the abstract image structure literally make the photo. Nice work man!

Oh wow, thank you Carlo! Travis and Charlie, great work on your images.

For this week's theme, I'm going with something new: Portrait

Let me see your best portrait. It can be a person or a pet. Most important thing is to show us a portrait that is engaging. Good luck!
