Ok follow up on the 70-2002.8 GM
Here is my review on the 2x TC that goes with the GM
spoiler version read no further - It is a typical 2x TC that has all the issues you would think but at a VERY expensive price tag. - Dont buy it.
More detailed version
I had such hopes I really thought wow I could just carry this lens and the TC in my pocket and have the best of all worlds. But it was not to be. Let me start with my disclaimer from my previous review
I suck at photog so dont take my word. It was dark clouldy days when testing. I tested it on my 6500 too bad if your mad about this on the A7 forum.
So lets do some good
size = small good - attaching to lens = easy no problems - it has an extended end that goes into the lens so this is one of the reasons it wont work with other lenses. I tried to put it on the 70-300 but it would have extended into the glass
Other good things= Focus - Insane really no loss of focus vs the lens with no TC it was spot on tracked well even in low light and was truly amazing kudos / sharp at times
Bad - muddy / bad backgrounds I mean really bad / and doughnut hole bokah / cost
I have to reinforce it was a dark day I had to up the ISO and shoot at 5.6 focusing was great but when I went to process I was less impressed. (Photog ability probably played some in here but some of these probs are not all me)
Here is a great shot sharp focus but look to the left of the bill and on the stick you will see doughnut holes

It can do it but not consistantly When you price this and the lens out your at about $3200 USD and well thats a lot of dough. Taking on and off the TC all day became routine and easy... I have a large Ziess cloth and so it was twist off wrap put in pocket reverse etc. Not till the end of the day did I miss time my switch and get a boatload of dust on the sensor.
In the end there are too many wrongs with this combo to make it right especially for the money. Course I was reaching for a bit of a holy grail so it could be my expectations were too high.
You can see more examples on my flickr page where I just slam up way too many pics .... Pics were taken in Willcox AZ during a Sandhill Crane festival and I took a side trip to the Chicirahua National Monument as well as the next day hitting up the Phoenix Botanical Gardens.
