This one I like the placement of the shoreline. But the duck is in an awkward position. Almost centered.

In this one, the duck is positioned better but now the shoreline is in the middle of the picture.

I like them both but they both have composition flaws... Probably because of the fact that I rarely go out shooting anymore so it's made me fall backwards in my composition skills.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Yeah, I forgot to mention I know about the crooked shoreline too. I wasnt going to fix that until I decided which one I was going to keep.

When shooting reflection images, the horizon/shoreline is often in the middle of the image. That doesn't make it a flawed composition.

Easy enough to use content aware move and put the duck wherever you want it.

Just my opinion, but I think the image would look more balanced if the duck were moved to the left side of the image and the trees on the right were cropped so only one tree is visible (similar to the first image, but eliminate the trunk of the second tree).

Edited to add an edit. I didn't move the duck, I just cropped some off the top and right.

Honestly, the duck is to prominent in the photo for me...looks like it's cut/paste in as it's sticking out on a foggy day. I'd remove it all together if it were mine.

Didn't think about moving the duck. Problem with that is I think there are ripples around the duck. So the ripples might have to move with the duck. I am on my phone but I'll look at it closer when I get home.

I like your edit. I wasn't too sure about moving the duck, but something looked off about him (like he was glowing).

I left in more trees on the right to make it seem more foresty.

I think the duck stands out because it is closer to the camera so the fog has less effect on it. When you look at the difference between the tree on the right and the ones on the far shore, it appears to be a rather heavy fog so objects closer to the camera should stand out more. I would not remove the duck as suggested by another poster, since at least to me, that is the subject.

As the others; # 2 and just straighten your shoreline

What the heck? There's content aware move, now? I'm so far behind.
