Corrupted files - usually due to either a failing memory card or a faulty cable/card reader, that corrupts the files during transfer.

shame but still very lucky with it only being 3 instead of the entire 1,175!
Guessing you've tried re-importing those 3 files to see if it happens again?

Either way I think it's time for a memory card replacement :-)

I made the mistake of buying a PNY CF card back in 2004 or 2005 for my Pentax Optio I had at the time... First time using it, ended up with a bunch of files garbled up like that. Best Buy only let me exchange it for another of the same PNY model, fortunately it didn't have any problems. Haven't bought anything PNY since then

Hello all

Im not trying to hijack this thread, but I have an issue which im assuming is memory card related also. If I should have posted this in a separate thread im sorry.

I took the first 2 images while at an airport last year . When I imported them into LR I ended up gettting a 3rd image, a composited image of the the first 2 images. At the time I didnt even have any software to composite images so it isnt something that I created. How does this happen?.

Well that is cool. I know some cameras can 'composite' in camera, maybe you bumped to that setting somehow?

I know my Canon 5d3 has a multi exposure feature which I've never tried(only because I haven't had the itch) Back in my films days I experimented.
