I personally love it. I do a lot of city/architectural shooting so it is essentially my daily driver. 0 complains

If money and family obligations were no object, where would you like to move to? [that's just intended as a fun open question for anyone/everyone]

Family took me here to Georgia, and I'm happy with it (mostly). But, having moved from KC, we're now twice as far from the Rockies, which is a huge huge huge bummer. A trip to Glacier NP, my favorite place on earth, seems impossible now. My wife and I were discussing a possible summer trip to Ouray, CO (camping at Ridgway SP) and we're just not sure if we want to make such a long road trip.

We'll probably limit our travels to the Appalachians or the coastal cities (St Augustine, Savannah, Charleston, etc.). Living in KC we were close the beautiful Ozarks (Southern MO and Northern AR) and Flint Hills (Eastern KS) and within reasonable driving distance to both Rockies and Appalachians.

David, I think I would like living in the Pacific Northwest. Endless opportunities for landscape photography. Mountains, rugged coastline, waterfalls, etc look so appealing. Winter would be tough.

that's something we are still trying to figure out... but definitely tired of Illinois...

Is not that I don't like snow, I don't mind snow, I just hate the in-between crap, for past few years when it snows in Illinois you get snow for 1-2 days and then it melts and you are stuck with gray-brown slush, and everything looks dead.

Wisconsin and Upper Michigan is better, because when it snows the snow actually says and often gives you a magical looking winterry landscape.

We were considering, Maine, Virginias, Arizona and Texas, where we actually end up, I don't know yet.

Wow. All really really nice sounding places with great scenery. :)

If I could pick one of those I'd actually probably favor the northern places over TX and AZ - even here in GA the heat is hard to cope with for half the year. It was 76 today and makes me dread what the summer will be. TX and AZ are even hotter AFAIK.

Thats another thing... Illinois especially northern part during summer you often get temperatures in 90-100 range, but then you also end up with 80-90+ humidity...

I can deal with the heat, but extreme high humidity and often with little to no wind I don't like.
