Thanks black fox I have been following your posts , what made you choose 80d over 7dmk11

its superior dynamic range mainly ,my lad has the 7d2 the wife has a 7d1 plus theres a 5d in house as well ,having found them all to be lacking i went for the 80D .to be honest if i had the choice i would have gone for a 1D4 or even a 1Dx for the better overall i.q ,but as a pensioner lack of funds holds me back

as Of March 2019 ,Panasonic G80/85 , Panasonic 12-60 , Panasonic Leica 100-400 , Nikon D7200, sigma 150-600C , Nikkor 50mm f1.4 ais.m/f ,sigma 105 f2.8 macro , Large c/f tripod ,jobu gimbal plus a ton of bitzas , all items subject to change on a whim

Thanks for the words of encouragement can you give me tips for afma

for a starter throw out the rule book ,i do mine using a standard sloping MA guide i also do it indoors to avoid wind affecting the results ,with the lens set at 600mm on a tripod ,wide open aperture ,single shot . and at a distance of around 20 feet .first ascertain if there is a front or back focus problem ,then adjust accordingly .check results on computer and repeat operations until your happy its spot on .
the reason i do mine at close range is when sitting in a hide taking a close up frame filling bird i don't want the lens set for mega distance work .i only set mine in camera not the lens and its definitely worked as before xmas i was on the verge of selling the camera .heres a couple of examples from the last week to prove it works at both near and long distance ,the proof of the pudding if you like .both shots taken hand held at 600mm FL .
