This will be an update to the ISO3200+ thread. Sensor technology has advanced, so let's make the criteria a bit more stringent.

Purpose of the thread will be to:

1) showcase your camera's ability to capture clean images at ISO 12,800 or higher

and/or

2) showcase your ability to post-process ISO 12,800 or higher images. This will serve to give other members an idea of what each camera body is capable of producing, as well learning methods of effectively reducing noise in post.

At a minimum, please include the following:

1. Camera body
2. Noise reduction method used with some values

Feel free to elaborate more on your method.

Both are from a 5D3

ISO 25,600
Lightroom NR - luminance 22, detail 67, contrast 10, a bit of selective NR and skin softening on her face. There is definitely an issue visible on her eye-shadow, but I think that was from having "Auto-mask" selected during the skin softening. I find that it will sometimes make sin look "sandy' or pixelated in shadows, or in this case, dark eye shadow. De-selecting automask could have prevented this.

ISO 12,800
Lightroom NR - luminance 18, detail 60, contrast 8, then run through Noise Ninja

Time for the 7D2....

Again, I ran the same action I developed for the 7D2/5D4/5D3 on these images, just a smidge of NR on the OOC JPG, then some basic filters. Cheerleader shots, America's Got Talent contestant, concert shot, etc

ISO 12800

Probably should merge with this other thread, I knew we had a 12,800 thread in the past.

I quite often shoot at ISO12,800 with my 7Dii and at 600mm. Edit in lightroom, luminance noise reduction 50 or up to 70 and finished in Dfine2 add on. A few recent shots all 12,800 and exif in tack on flickr

Both of these are from a 5D3, processed through LightRoom with a little more than default luminance NR.

Image #1 was in a school auditorium with fluorescent lights above the stage and front light from halogen(?) spots.

image #2 was in a dark and rainy day. No sun at the time.
