I get paid to play occasionally...but usually it's long, boring, days far away from the family.. Unique opportunities for some fun pics, tho. :-)

If I take enough pictures, at least one of them should turn out...maybe

With the kit 15 - 45 f/3.5 - 6.3. I've noticed streaking in the sky before, and flare ... and no way to put a hood onto the lens...
Te Mata Peak today - my little buddy sitting waiting for me

Some of the tracks are designated walkers only, others are shared with mountain bikers:

Near the summit - 8 shot pano when I realised I'd left the adapter and Tokina 11 - 16 at home!

THIS IS A LOW QUALITY PREVIEW. Please log in to see the good quality stuff.

Trying to decide if I wanna get a 35mm f/1.4 or 24-70mm f/2.8 next. Plan on adding a 5D mk4 or maybe a 6D mk2 by the end of the year, but I still want something useful on crop until then.

I'm not up to speed on either the 5Div or the 6Dii, what is the allure of each? I just sold my 6D, a treasured friend, my 70D too.....slowly facing the inevitable day when I have to sell all the Canon kit :(
But in the mean time I'm looking forward to either a Sony a77iii or an EOS 7Diii.

Thanks - it must have been the 22 f/2 that I couldn't see where to attach a hood?

I'm assuming this goes over the lens and not into the internal filter thread? I got caught out like that buying one for the Tokina 11 - 16 f/2.8.

But thanks again will follow up.

Why are you selling all your Canon gear? Other brands better for your purposes??

Slowly over time Rose.
I'm just aging. 1DXii is a heavy beast, Sony a99ii is lighter as an example.
Not that I want to mind you, just hard reality.
But not tomorrow, not yet ;)
I've backpacked over 4000 miles over the last 3.5 decades. I'm used to being able to move, carry
a load. Kinda hurts mentally and emotionally loosing my physical abilities. Not there yet, but best
to plan out another scheme.
Thus the further/continued interest in mFT, and I have to say the Oly M1 mk ii is incredible...just have to
get closer to the critters.

Its just full frame. Also if the 6D or 5Dmk3 had DPAF I would have gotten one of those already. I do a lot of shots where I can't easily look through the viewfinder.

Okay, just found my favorite museum combo. M5 with Rokinon 12mm f2. Yeah, its manual focus...in a museum. Once I got it focused (at 10x, with focus peaking), I didn't have to change focus again. Wide at f2 and lightweight = SWEET! Downloaded straight from camera to my ipad, no processing. I need to find the lens correction values to put in photoshop.
