I wonder what type of ordnance it was carrying...

Probably carrying the most dreaded of all......the BirdTurd human seeking smart bombs.

Ok, I may be off topic here, but... Probably 35 years ago a friend of mine, his brother, and myself went to a small lake about 30 miles from home to fish. We had caught 2+ pound bluegills out of this pond before but this particular day the fish simply were not cooperating with us. My friend's brother could be a jerk at times and definitely a motor-mouth. Well, it wasn't long before the grumbling started from him. Finally escalating to "Take me to the shore, I'll find a way home" kind of things. My friend and I tried to fish (14' johnboat with the brother in the middle) even through the non-stop cussing and fussing. We hadn't seen a bird all day...it was one of those days when the wild creatures apparently take the day off or something. Finally, coming over the trees at the other end of the lake we see a bird slowly flying our way probably 150-200 feet high. The bird kept coming...it was going to fly right over us. YES!!!!! Suddenly the "brother" is cussing a blue streak and has BirdTurd human seeking smart bomb dripping down his hair onto his face!!! Me and his brother about had a stroke we were laughing so hard...naturally that egged him on. Even nature had gotten tired of hearing him complaining.

Saw the strangest thing the other day......

EDIT: My friend, who is active military, just saw this and gave it just a great name. He called Freedom Trails.

Pretty cool. I thought.

Love it :)

I think I got a picture of your culprit! It's the last guy here in this picture....I got him in the act of bombing your brother....we can track him down and get him for 'hit and run'.

For years my friend and I struggled to figure out what was appropriate to call him...."bird brain" or "s...head". Whichever we called him, though, he answered to. ;)

Nice shot, Bob...maybe title it "Release"...sounds romantic.

The local power plant on the intracoastal attracts manatees due to the warm water outflow. When it gets cold they congregate at the plant, as they are sensitive to cold water and will die off if it gets too cold. It was always closed to the public until last year when they built and opened a manatee lagoon with visitor center, so on chilly mornings you can see these amazing creatures in a little lagoon at the plant. 6D plus 70-300L plus polarizing filter. The lagoon was full of snook this morning as well as some really cool eagle rays (see my flickr page)
